Windshield washer reservoir is leaking badly.......I know this is fairly common.......

is it a DIY fix? What exactly causes the leak? Expensive to repair?

reservoir or pump?

I believe the common problem is the pump itself. Something about a defective o-ring. Dealer replaced the whole thing for my 99.5
