Default wiring question

i'm trying to wire some led's to my fog light switch, someone told me i have to take out the radio to do this, i tried it with nail files and i'll put it this way, it's not happening. Why can't i just try to pry out the fog light switch itself? any ideas? i could use some help

You don't pry out the radio with nail files.. there is little slots they slide into..
