Default Would a Bored-Out Cat throw codes on a Non-DBW??

Would a Bored out stock Cat throw codes or put me into limp mode? How about with a Test pipe?

BTW, I have a 1.8T non-dbw, and I have heard that some high-flow cats can throw codes, that is why I ask.

How much additional exhaust drone if any would a high flow or Bored-out Cat add to our cars?

TIA
-Kam

Default You need custom software to disable the secondary o2 sensor

if you plan to run without cat.

Otherwise eventually you'll probably throw a CEL due to the fact the second o2 sensor isn't 1. Warming up, 2. within spec.

Default If I replaced my exhaust with a 3" turbo back and still had cat....

and put the O2 sensors around the cat like before, would it throw codes?

Default My cat is often bored out of its mind, but the worst it does is just throw up... ;-)

hairballs, not codes.

Default If you dont have a cat at all you will it will throw a code within 200 miles of driving.

Because the limit of the 02 will be reached.

I dont think any of the chip tuners offer doing anything to the chip like that.

Default I'm running a test pipe, just got one of the O2's in the testpipe, the other 02 is hanging....

No check engine light from the testpipe so far. Just a fierce sound, no drone either btw.
