Would it be difficult to put a 00' S4 climate control into a '99 A4?

well...
you'll have to upgrade the console, stereo, fog/heated seat buttons, and the surrounding trim. Plus you'll probably have to do a little custom wiring. But others have done it so it is possible.

the reason i was considering it is because I had leatherette heated seats installed in my car
and my previous seats were no heated, so for $50 i could pick up this whole climate control unit with heated seat controls....i thought it would be a cheaper alternative then doing it another way but it seems like you guys don't think it will be a fairly direct swap...

well its a pretty direct swap but you need all the other parts
which means $$$$... its up to you. I'd try to just get some heated seat switches from a 96-99 and install them in place of the blank ones and wire it all up
