xpost from OT....here's the newest member of the family
I picked him up on Saturday, 14 weeks old. Right now he's ~15" long and will grow to a maximum 4-5 feet long (Ball, not Burmese, which grow 12-15 feet). Very cool pet, not aggressive at all...very docile and just loves to crawl around and explore the living room.

well since you asked... ;)
hatchlings are already 8"-12" long, and ball pythons are known for being very thick snakes. Like most animals the first few months of growth is quite rapid. His diet right now consists of one of these every 6-7 days

As he grows he'll take larger ones and feeding will be even more infrequent, up to 14 days or more.

since I got him Saturday I've only had to feed him once so far (warning to PETA nuts)
Mr. Mouse lasted ohh about 12 seconds before the snake had seen enough

hahaha....clearly you've never seen the process
I put the snake in the "feeder" box (never feed a snake in their normal cage) and then dropped the mouse inside; the mouse moved around completely unaware of what else was in the box. The snake didn't move an inch....then....BAAAM!! within 1/2 second he struck and had the mouse wrapped in two coils. The speed is incredible. Since the mouse is small it didn't take more than a few seconds for the constriction to suffocate it.
