I'm trying to figure out why my cruise contrl isn't working. I noticed that you can start the car without pushing the clutch in. Is this normal? I know most cars require you to press it in to start.

Default You need a new clutch position switch

The cruise control won't work if it thinks your depressing the clutch pedal.

Default My clutch sensor is bad so the cruise doesn't work. Now I have to try

starting it sans declutching. But yes, you are supposed to declutch in order to start any new car because the fear of litigation is strong. Some kid probably got run over and it's now a safety feature on all manual cars just like stepping on the brake to shift out of park on an auto trans.
