You thought you guys have it bad with wheel bearings?
The GTI started making noise from the right front when going over bumps the other day, so I made a point of getting it into work today to look at it. Right front wheel bearing has play in it again! This will be the 4th time I have replaced it! My cost at the dealer would have been $45, EuroPartsDirect has SKF bearings 1J0 407 625 for $30.90 so you can figure out which one I did, considering we don't have the part in stock anyway. They also sell the kit 1J0 498 625 which includes new hardware for double the price of just the bearing, I can live without that!
So yeah, that's my "Weekend Mod" post...no mods, just crappy wheel bearings. Damnit.

By the way, thanks for the part number cross-referencing help, but....
we didn't have em in stock. Oh well, I'll just wait for the bearing to arrive from EPD.
