between the frame and the 'upholstery' in the trunk where the screw goes to screw in the tail light. I just changed one of the bulbs, and i was screwing in the screw, as the bit of my screwdriver somehow fell off and fell between the frame and upholstery....is there a way to get it out??? TIA!!

I know this won't help you retrieve the bit, but for future reference, whenever I change a tail light bulb, I stuff a small rag in the gap between the screw and the circular carpet cap that pops off. That way the screw (or a screwdriver bit) cannot fall into the gap.

did the same thing last week... my solution
in my case i ended up pulling out the trim panel anyway for an install and searched for the screw that way, but even then I couldn't find it. Seriously, your best bet is to go to the hardware store with the OTHER screw (opposite taillight) and buy a new screw. I did that, and ended up with a nicer screw that has an allen head and is easier to remove without dropping.
By the way for future reference, at least on my car (B6 avant) you don't have to actually pull the screw out of the area, you just have to loosen it completely, then the headlight will pop out.
