Default Check edmunds.com. Price should be same for order vs off the lot.

A special order means you need to track the car and keeps it's intended owner informed for 4 months.

Off the lot sales means you may have to pay flooring if the car is slow mover.

Both are usually the same amount of work to the dealer. Just focus on choosing exactly what you want in the car. You may find it on the lot, the dealer may find it in a locate, or you may have to order - but it will be exactly what you want.

Default I'm looking in CT/NY area-$1000 to $1200 over invoice so far

I just started looking and have noticed:
1) there aren't many out there
2) It's hard to get them for less that $1200 over invoice.

Default That Sonnen place is really expensive.

I had 3 friends walk in there to buy a car and they all ended up going to SF and Sacramento to get their cars. Saved them close to a couple of grand each.

They don't seem to care if you walk out at all. I was in there as well and I just felt like they were too cool for me. They were nice but you just don't get the feeling you are in the driver seat if you know what I mean. It looks like their sales guys do very well there too.

Maybe if they realized that they would do something about it and be happy with a happy medium. They are clearly going after low quantity high prices. They get away with it because it is Marin County. You know, the place John Walker came from....Mill Valley, Marin County.

3 people and no cars from Sonnen.

Sonnen also owns the BMW, VW, Porsche dealership so I think they feel they have a monopoly on cars in Marin. Problem is you can easily drive to Emeryville to Weatherford BMW or SF Audi. It seems to be a very worthwhile drive....one that I will be taking here shortly. Make that 4 lost sales......and one nice reputation.

Default These guys seem good Negherbon Audi in Oakland...I talked to a guy

and told him what I wanted to pay and he said that was do-able. I believed him because I had heard they were honest and trustworthy. We searched for a car, just couldn't find the one I wanted. He did find a car with a sports package and heated seats and wrong color but I didn't want the sports package nor the heated seats. He tried to work the numbers to get into my range nonetheless. He was going to throw in the heated seats and charge me slightly less than invoice on the sports package. After he crunched the numbers it was still more than what I had initially wanted to pay but a great price nonetheless. I appreciated his efforts and told him I would be back when inventory was looking better.
Can't remember his name but if I heard it I would.
