Default 1.8t ESP light

So a while back my car started stalling out and losing power during driving and my esp light came on. I replaced the engine speed sensor like read on other forums. But after replacing the sensor the problem didn't go away!! Could it be becuz I used a dura last part (didn't want to wait two days at the dealership)? Any ideas would be appreciated. 2005 1.8t Quattro 86k miles

ESS and ESP light are not related. You are going to need to download codes with a VAGCOM reader to determine what faults you have

I never said anything about the ESS light. The only light that is on is the ESP light.Well anyways I went to the dealer and they said not to use ****ty brands like duralast cuz those parts never work properly, figures, cuz my car would even start up after that lol. So I went on ECStuning and ordered the OEM Bosch. Hopefully this solves my problem

And plus on my diagnostic reader, it kept saying something about the engine speed sensor having a low input. So I'm hoping that thats the issue

Poor writing on my part. Agree there is no ESS light; was just saying the ESS sensor and the ESP light are not related. But, as you note the ESS sensor and the EPC light are.

So is your problem solved?
