2 ?s. 1, what offset for 18x8 or 19x8.5 on stock sport, & 2, how wide are hubcentric...

Thanks. Dumb ?, I know the rings help center the wheel on the little lip on the hub...
when the wheel's center is larger around than the lip, but what are the benefits of running rings or dangers of not, and is it better to have hubcentric wheels or does it not matter either way? Thanks for the advice.

By rings I assume you're refering wheel spacers (more)
I'm running 10mm (front) and 15mm (rear) MTM wheel spacers with my stock sport rims with no problems.
Safety issues regarding the use of wheel spacers arise from people cutting corners with cheap parts, i.e) using spacers that are flat where the weight of the vehicle rests on the wheel bolts, not the centering lip. Make sure the spacers you get are hubcentric to carry the load of your vehicle correctly, i.e.) wieght rests on the centering lip. H&R and MTM are you two safest bets for quality spacers.
I've read no solid proof that wheel spacers interfere (or damage) the performance of the Quattro. It is claimed that wheel spacers will increase wear on suspension parts if the car is driven aggressively.
