2002 3.0 Threw timing belt. Rebuilding heads.
I have 2002 A4 3.0 V6 with 150k on itthat threw the timing belt while driving and it just destroyed most of the valves. The crank turns freely and the faces of the pistons aren't too bad so hopefully no damage down there. I got all new valves and was replacing them then I found a good deal on two complete heads (used) that look to be in really good shape. Maybe the cam lobes look a little worn. At this point I'm wondering do I just swap the heads out as they are or do I go through and trade out the valves since I have them ? And does anyone know any sources to look for reasonably priced replacement cams in slightly better condition besides eBay and carparts.com . Thanks
Does this cam wear look ok ?

Unless you know the history of those used heads, it might be a good idea to have an engine rebuilding shop check them out, in case they experienced overheating, for instance. Those cams are probably OK, but you won't know about the lifters until you try them.

Upon further inspection, I know at least one of the valves is tweaked because the cam is out and two of the exhaust valves look half open. So at the very least a visit to the machine shop is in order.
