255/40/17 tires: I think I am going to give 255's a try.
255's on a non lowered sport suspension car should be ok. The wheels are 8" wide with a 35mm offset. The only thing that concerns me is rubbing on the control arms. I will take some measurements this weekend before a final decision is made. I just want as much lip protection for my wheels as possible. Eric is paranoid.

Eric I am going to do same thing maybe this fall.
But I have Sport Suspension...
