5K vs 10K service. Today Audi service said that Audi pays for 10K change, not a 5K oil change.

Not what I read or assumed....
Just picked up my new A4 Saturday and according to the maintenance manual the first oil change is at 5K and then 10K and 10K therafter. No mention of first change not being paid for under warranty. Show me in writing it is not paid for......

I have a 99 1.8T New Beetle. Service intervals are every 5K for oil and filter and VW did this under free maintenance for 1st 2 years.
I now have to pay but still at recommended interval of 5K.

If you press the service key, is should reflect
5K for the first service, but my dealer indicated 10K as well. I'll have one performed at 5k anyway, whether they pay or not. I just don't feel good about waiting 10K on the first one...
