A4 drivers side window problem
Only just got this car and it's proving to be a real stress provider.
Raining the other day, rolled my window down for
toll booth or something, roll the window back up and as it's coming up it makes a god awfull screech
Now it has a bunch of scratches all the way up the driver side window.
It's a cosmetic thing, but I mean wtf I only just bought this car, it's a 2004 CPO A4 Ultrapsport with 33k miles, should it be doing this ?
Plus it was only that one time. Doesn't look like there was any foreign object in there. Now I have to drive my new car around with a bunch of annoying scratches all the way up the driver side window. I don't feel like I can moan at the dealer about it, they would probably laugh in my face.

Re: If it were mine, I'd have been to the dealer three times by now...after all, it was CPO'd
Well I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago, so I'll be taking it in for the plates when they arrive. I feel like a bit of a dick moaning about the scratches on the window, but I mean damn, it's annoying, they are right there in my face.
Also it does not seem to do it all the time, so how can I get them to replicate....

Yes, but I'm sure you paid a good chunk for the car, so why settle? Even if they can't replicate
the problem, the evidence is right there, so I'd let them have it. Let them look, maybe they even have had this happen to others before. Maybe I'm just too obsessed with my car being perfect, but hey, it's no KIA, right?

This guy has got a point...they didnt sell you the car with the scratches and you said you didn't..
think there were any foreign objects that may have caused this. It is obvious that something mechanical (i.e. window track or motor) caused this to happen. They should be willing to help you out.
