About to order new front rotors. Debating between Zimmerman plain OEM replacements
or a pair of Stoptech one-piece slotted rotors. Help convince me the the Zimmerman plain rotros are all I need.

Chinese rotors. I don't mind spending money on permanent parts that last, but brakes are ~consumed~
Therefore temporary and frankly a waste. On-the-road, stopping distance is mostly dictated by availible *tire* traction. Take the wet braking scenario, oem-ish brakes will work just as well as any oversize, upgraded...whatever. If you cant' stop your car safely in dry with basic stock brakes, something is wrong with your driving. Personally, from a cost/benefit approach, I think tires are much better money spent, even though they are also a item consumed over and over. fwiw, $25 Chinese rotors work fine and are infact, quite good quality, esp compared to oem ATE.

I've got slotted, and I swear I get a little pedal vibration from the grooves. Next time...
I'm just going to get plain. I got the slotted for a bit of bling, but now that I have that out of my system, back to plains when I'm ready.

those z's are hot.
Roman - i am installing the new carbotech bobcats in the stoptechs in a week or so. From talking to carbotech and one of their dealers they are much less dusty than the Axxis Ult pads we are running now, and have a similar coefficent of friction and about the same MOT. I will let you know how they are once i have some miles on them. Oh and they are more aggressive than the hawk HPS, but less aggressive than the Ferrodo DS2500. I also ordered a set for my wifes car so i can test them on an OEM brake setup w/ brembo slotted rotors and with the Stoptech kit. I will be rebleeding the system with the Pentosyn Super DOT again too.

Sounds like a plan Eric.
I'm thinking about trying those BHP XPS pads.
I'd love to hear hear how the Bobcats compare to the Ultimates in our ST 332 application. Keep me updated.
