Default All-season tire recommendations

It's that time again, time to get new tires. I'm looking for all-season tires with decent rain and snow grip - more for safety than high-speed performance - but also decent dry performance.

Any suggestions?

In the past I've had these tires on various cars:
- Dunlop SP Sport A2 - on A4B5 - very good dry performance, not that much fun though.
- Pirelli P6 - factory installed on the A4B6 - I'm quite satisfied with them, but they've worn out after 40k; most of my other tires have worn out around 60k.
- B/F Goodrich Control T/A - decent all-around but not great dry performance

Default Might want to look at the comparo on tirerack.com

I think they do a really good job of rating tires. You can take all those tires and others and compare them side-by-side. Look at performance, snow capability, wet traction, dry traction, etc...

You also may want to consider posting on tire forum too.

Default I just purchased the Kumho Ecsta ASX...

They're a lot quieter than the Pirelli P-Zero's, and yes, even when I first picked up my car new, they were noisy.

The handling seems a little worse than before, but it's not like I take corners at 80 mph.

and the two best features of the tire are they are a lot cheaper than others, and they have a 30,000 mile guarantee.

Maybe best if you want good handling. Wear is ok. Turanza H/Z, Conti Extreme, Mich XGT or Falken 512
