Annoying sun roof noise
I used the search w/no luck. I noticed that once you get around 40Mph there is the most annoying noise when I have the sunroof open. It seems to go away after 60mph or by slightly closing the sunroof. Any one else w/the same problem? Perhaps a solution??

If you look in your owners manual you'll find a section on the "comfort zone" for the sunroof.
Also, if you look at the settings on the dial itself you'll see markings which indicate how far you should turn the dial back before you depart the comfort zone.

Re: Annoying sun roof noise
So the HELO noise is normal?? That's what I've been doing all along but is a pain in the *** when you're driving in the city all the time.

Yep, totally normal. If you crack the rear windows it'll go away. (long explination inside)
It's called buffeting and it occurs because of differences in the air pressure outside of the cabin and inside of the cabin. If only the sunroof is open (the more open, the more pronounced this becomes) there is only on place for the air pressure to be released and regained. So it oscillates back and forth through the sun roof creating the buffeting. If you open the rear windows a little, it allows for an inlet/outlet other than the sunroof, thus the air can move in a smooth stream using the sunroof as either an inlet or an outlet and the rear windows as the opposite.

Our lowly Accord has a thing that flips up to eliminate the thumping.
Why can't the geniuses at Audi do this?
From the Honda website:
Air passing across an open moonroof can create an unpleasant situation called "wind throb" in the car's cabin. A specially designed pop-up deflector in the new Accord moonroof controls wind-flow and results in a 10 dB reduction in "wind throb" noise in city driving at typical speeds.

Cause Audi is cheap compared to Honda...
not really...but i can see your point. I actually do not mind the way the moon/sunroof works in the A4. I like the fact, that if you open it completely, it disappears from view. I do not really like the way cars look with tilted sunroofs (when the sunroof is open and not tilted of course).
Honda does things differently and that is fine. Maybe the next Audi models will be different, but for now you can either open the back windows a bit, drive at a different speed or get used to the "helicopter-like" sound.
