Another battery post... wrenches, blood, swearing.
Gang- I know there are some how-to-do-it's for batteries but most covered most, some covered less.
Yes- the allen is a 6mm. All of them.
I removed the strut tower screws on the passenger's side. Had to use different extensions to get around the AC lines. Driver's side... same but the brake booster made it hell. Stuck the allen in, used a little 4mm wrench to get it started.
No one told me about the one in the middle. To get to it, I had to remove that bracket. 6mms too.
Bought the 41-4 from walmart, $70 w tax. So far so good... The traction control light came on for about 15 sec but went off after a little drive.
I skinned my finger pretty good, blood, oil, grease and sweat. I'd expect nothing less on an Audi battery swap.

WOW! You sure gave yourself lots of trouble for nothing...
To remove the battery all you need to do is remove the small plastic part that keeps the battery secured in place by using a long allen key to unscrew the allen bolt that holds it in place.
The upper strut bar is even designed in a way for the allen key to fit in there.
