B6 3.0 Quattro front diff problem, HELP!!

B6 3.0 Quattro front diff problem, HELP!!
My front diff, either bearing or pinion, I dont which, makes a loud noise while driving, i replaced the axles and all wheel bearings already, and new tires, weird thing is when I put the front wheels off the ground, it makes the noise out the front diff, when I hold the driver wheel the noise seems to come from passenger wheel, when i hold the passenger wheel, no noise, but it is coming from the diff. Audi is stumped and wants me to pay 5000 for a tranny, help please!!!!
