Hey.

First Post on the Audiworld forums, although I have used the site for help on previous Audi's, I just never thought to register!

So, I bought an Audi A4 1.8t Quattro 190bhp Avant, and over the past few months of owning it, it has come to light the previous owner has pretty much done almost everything on the cheap (one being changing the timing belt, tensioner and pulley but NOT the water pump, causing it to break and my engine to over heat! But alas, I digress).

My issue is that the clutch was slipping. So, I bought a new clutch, flywheel (may as well!) bolts, release bearing and Crank seal. My mechanic fitting it said once it was done, he said he couldn't get reverse and all the other gears were almost impossible to select.

It seems seized (correct me if I'm wrong). It's the BEX engine, from reading other forums I have seen that the gearbox code that'll fit my engine are GDZ/HER but I cannot find any that aren't ridiculously priced online.

Are there any other gearboxes that will fit? (if you have a link to one for sale then please, fire it my way!).
