Default Thanks and some questions for the masses

This looks great!

I just wrote a response about the transpod as well. After seeing your post, I think I might try to use both. The transpod would make an excellent mount inside the armrest. It would hold the iPod securly and would supply power. I would then use your mod directions to run a a direct line to the head unit and hack those into the transpod's mini stereo plug. The transmitter portion of the transpod would not be used.

I have some questions before trying this...

1) Is there power already in a B6 armrest? Where? Does anyone know of a URL that shows pictures of this? Is the power switched or constant?

2) Is it easily possible to run that mini cord into the armrest through the bottom.

I might give this a try to get the iPod permanently mounted with as little drilling as possible. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Default yaa...soundgate

I was gonna go with their adapter because it would control XM from the symphony 2... but since the symphony 2 doesn't/can't display text it would only show the channel number. ****ty.

It has a sticker that says "AUDI AUX DMX V2 2001/2002", so I assume "V2" is version 2...

What makes a Soundgate "better quality"? Better shielded cables?

you can't control the IPod from the stereo, right? that would be cool.
