I drive a 2012 Audi A4 Quattro 2.0L, it’s got about 170,000kms (~100,000miles). It’s been making this buzzing/ticking sound coming for the air vents in the cab. I know it’s from the air system because the sound goes away if I turn the a/c off. It almost sounds like a when a fan hits a piece of the frame around it. The sound only happens when I accelerate or brake and goes away if I stay the same speed. It also goes away if I accelerate excessively quick. Nor is it there when I rev the engine in neutral.

I have no idea what this could be, any thoughts?

If it sounds like it is coming from the passenger side dash, check the cabin filter and make sure it is secure. I had a similar problem on my old C6
