I checked the pressure again, and its definately 45 psi with a/c running. Also checked with a/c off and got about 90 or so psi. Don't have what I would need to check the high pressure side though.
Its definately the aux fan that is cycling on/off. I haven't been able to hear a difference or any abnormal sounds coming from the servos under the dash.
Is there a pressure switch that might be bad causing the cycling? Is there anything else I can do short of buying a vagcom?

Unfortunately I forgot where I read it, probably AZ or heard it locally, but there was an issue with the A/C not coming on due to the temp sensor malfunctioning and thinking it was below freezing - thus turning off the A/C. From that the guy looked to replace his sensor since his car temp showed that it thought it was freezing outside.
Although this is probably not your problem it's interesting that there may be other sensors to play around with. If you have been inside the A/C system you should feel comfortable enough to go back and make sure that everything is in line, you may be touching a cold object with some sensor and thus cutting the cool air out of a section (the middle).

Got it fixed. Turned out to be a loose wire in the aux fan control module wiring harness that was making only intermittent contact and therefore causing the fan to cycle. With the fan cycling, it wasn't able to get the air cold. The code that came up stated that there was an improper ac control module for my vin, which was obviously not true. Either way. I can now get myself cold when it's 95 degrees outside.

Hi all,
New to the forum also. Our car is a 2004 A4 cabriolet 1.8T. I just had the a/c compressor and receiver dryer replaced as well as a system recharge. Side vents blow cool air while the center vents blow mild warm air.
I am doing research as well as the Import repair shop is doing as well. They want the problem fixed also.
Thanks
