A/C Help Needed!
Ugh! I hate not having A/C in the summer!!
My car is not blowing cold air at all. And I have a strange buzzing sound coming from (I think) the A/C condenser in the engine compartment.
I thought I was running low on R-134a so I bought a recharge kit. Hooked it up to the car today but first decided to check the pressure... It was between 65-100 psi, when it should be under 40!!
It would go to 100psi, then slowly go down to 65psi during which time the A/C lines would get colder. As soon as it reaches 65psi, the buzzing sound starts and the A/C lines would become warm again. So obviously it's not low on refrigerant.
Any ideas what could be wrong and how long it would take to replace it? I'm supposed to go out of town on a long trip this weekend. I'm thinking of taking it to the dealer first thing tomorrow morning (CPO warranty) and see if they can fix it by the end of the day. Any other suggestions? The car is '04 B6 1.8T. The timing of this really blows

The low side pressure is a function of the heat absorption load, and the ...
resulting displacement setting of the compressor, so the pressures you posted may or may not be correct. The symptom of no cold air discharge at all, indicates an issue with the air duct flaps, the control flap for the air flow through the evaporator core being suspect as stuck, etc. A VAG-COM is needed to evaluate the system and to perform any basic settings, clear codes, etc. Without that tool, not much can be accomplished here. I 2nd the advice to go to the dealer's service call in the AM.
