This is a relitavely "noob" question

I pressed the "Check" button on my 2003 A4 2.4 today and noticed that:
-in the upper portion in cycles through some stuff highlighted in a yellow light
-in the middle, the coolant and oil symbols flash in red.
-at the ned(i assume) an "OK" is displayed in the upper portion in yellow.

So my question is, do i need to check on the coolant and oil ? or was that just the checking process when it popped up ?

Will a warning be displayed when the oil and coolant are low ?

Yellow warnings will be displayed when you have low coolant or oil, but the levels are high enough that you're not going to risj damage to your car by driving to the parts store to go buy some coolant or oil.

Red warnings will be displayed when you are low enough to damage your car.

As long as you don't have any constant warning indicators, everything should be fine. When you press the 'check' button, it just scrolls through all the possible indicators.
