Default coolant gusher

Once again....for the fifth time since Christmas, I've had my car in because of a coolant leak. They've apparently pressure tested the system, replaced the expansion tank, expansion tank cap, thermostat housing, etc, and it is once again gushing coolant and no heat within the car. All this and they tell me that everything pressure tests ok and no sign of problems. If that's the case, what is this, and why does my coolant level continually drop? (2 hrs to the dealer for servicing too!)

Default No heat? Are they pressure testing with the heater on?

They need to make sure the heater core is being fed coolant while checking.

Most systems have a valve that will exclude the heater core from the cooling systems unless it's needed. I'd assume the A4 has the same.

Default Re: I have no idea what they are doing.........

All I know is that they have not fixed the problem, and if anything, it is now worse because now I have no heat. I assume a thermostst is stuck, since when I first drove it home, yesterday (2hrs), I had good heat.

Audi, never again!

Default If you're under warranty involve Audi of America.

If not find a non-dealer shop to fix the car and blackball the dealer to AoA.

Default 1.8t

.....and I can only assume if they knew where it was leaking from, they would fix it. So far, I have had to send them pics to proove it since I get the impression they think I'm imagining it.

Default Arm-twist the dealer to fix it. Souds to me

like they're just being lazy. Fluid on the ground is an obvious problem and "can't find it" isn't an acceptable answer.

All this should be no-cost to you if you're under warranty.

Or as someone suggested they might lemon the car and get you into another at little to no loss to you.
