Default cop pulls me over for tints (m)
Cop pulls me over last night in Holmdel, NJ. And tell me tints for the front driver and passenger side are highly illegal !!! is that true in NJ???

isnt there a legal % limit in NJ ?? if so, can someone tell me what the legal limit.

he let me of with a warning.

Default warning to do what?
in PA, front Driver and Pass side windows any tint is supposedly illegal, but no one ever gets stopped. the other windows (except winshield) can get 35%. My understanding is that it's the same in NJ except that they enforce the front windows more. sux.

Default did he have a light meter to *actually* measure how dark your tint was?
also, i didn't think jersey had specific tint laws.....

Default It's always been a grey area in PA... My understanding was 70% front windows, rest 35% or whatever
It basically comes down to they want to be able to clearly see the driver inside the vehicle for the officer's own safety.

a few threads back, they stated that the law in NJ is NO TINT ON THE FRONT WINDOWS

same in CA...nothing on the front side windows is allowed nothing to do with % of tint

Default Tint on the front 3 windows is illegal in Jersey... no question.
If you have it, they have a bonafide reason to pull you over. I will never tint a car with Jersey registration.
