Hi,
I have a 2004 A4 Avant. It has a rattle/creaking/squeaking noise which sounds like it's coming from inside or just behind the steering wheel. It's worth mentioning this can only be heard when the steering wheel is straight, and doesn't happen when making turns. Unsure if this is related to that issue but I also occasionally have a singular clicking noise from the steering wheel which happens when turning past a certain point (10 and 2 o clock or there abouts). The clicking noise only happens every now and then and isn't constant. I'm suspecting it may be a damaged clock spring or something loose catching somewhere. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar noise and what the cause was.
