ive been there....
i cant tell you how many 225/45/18 tires i went through, even here in sunny CA...
what can happen is that you hit pot hole or something and since yer tire tread is so thin - it pops the seal. since yer tires are again so thin u hardly notice it and u continue to ride on a low air tire...eventually it comes to a breaking point where yer riding on a pure flat and the rims (via the weight and pressure of yer car) slices yer tire completely.
yer rims look exactly like the 5 or so i had to have repelaced.
it could have also been you have a small leak, again riding on 35 or 40 series tires is almost like riding on nothing, u hardly notice it, till yer wheel is next to nothing - there by again shredding yer side wall.
really sux bobby...beleive me i know what yer going through...best advice i can give is to always check yer tires each time you get in, riding on a low profile tire (esp 40 / 35 sires) = sure tire death.

yea no kidding! i have yet to figure out why they made it bright orange! The spare though is
pretty ingenious... its very small and deflated... porsche provides the air compressor to infalte it up to the correct psi with the tire, so that itll fit in the small trunk :-)
