Default Dealer Must Use Synthetic....

Hope this isnt a repost..
Heard from someone who heard it from a
AUDI tech.

Dealers must now use Synthetic oil
for our cars. 1.8T and some upgraded
OIL filter..

n/e one else heard of this or direct me
to n/e previous links....

You best make sure that your dealer DOES though.

Default I got the letter in the mail recently, but how can we be absolutely sure that they are actually

going to use synthetic????

Got the same thing from my service advisor today...although he didn't mention a diff. filter.

8 year ulimitaed mileage warranty for oil sludge issues should ease your worries.

But does this kick in ONLY if you have oil sludge issues?

Default No worries here, since I always bring my own "High Quality" synthetic oil :D

This issue has been pretty wel documented. It's also for the 1.8t. Just be sure to use a VW502.00, VW503.01 spec'd oil. My choice is Motul 8100 E-Tech 0W-40.
