Does a test pipe decrease back pressure? And if so what are the drawbacks to this?

Default Does a test pipe decrease back pressure? And if so what are the drawbacks to this?

I currently have test pipe and I'm thinking about switching to a milltek high flow cat. Would it be worth the $800+???

Default A high flow cat will have more restriction than your test pipe.

The benefit would be a more environment-friendly car with less restriction that the stock cat and, with some models, you will not experience a CEL. There is software that will allow a test pipe w/ no CEL, but most others will have this issue when running a pipe.

Default Does the test pipe take away power from the low rpm range?

My engine runs like ****! I have no vag and don't know where to take it. On top of that, I still have that stupid vibrating sound at high rpm that I can't figure out what it is.

I'm starting to think its this damn test pipe

Default The test pipe allows the turbo to spool faster and at a lower RPM.

There are many users running the test pipe and have not reported the issues you are experiencing. As for the vibration, have you checked all of the exhaust and test pipe hangers and connections?
