Default DOT???

Can someone please explain to me what "Housings are not DOT approved." mean in terms of the HID Clear Corners.

I'm on the brink of buying them from EPI but just wanted to make sure I understand what I'm getting.

I have the stock halogens...so what bulbs will I need?

Default You have to have the turn signal flash amber. I think you get around this using the amber flashing

bulb that looks silver (I don't remember what they are called).

Default Department Of Transportation requires all turn signals to have amber reflectors. E-Codes are Euro

spec'd housings (that is what you are getting). They have no amber reflectors in them. So they are not "DOT" Approved. It is a legal matter with the product being non-compliant with DOT regulations. Nothing to do with them being "cheap" or something else. Chris at EPi can answer any of these concerns/questions.

If you are getting Halogen E-Codes, you do not necessarily need to get bulbs, since you can use the H7 bulbs in there now. The E-Codes come with a standard City Light and turn signal (amber) bulb. However, most people want to upgrade them to get an "HID" effect lighting or have less obvious turn signal bulbs. You can see them all at EPi.

Here is what I have;

Philips Vision Plus H7 (low-beam)
Osram Silver Star H7 (high-beam)
Philips Blue Vision W5W (City Lights)
Philips Silver Vision PY21W (Turn Signal)

This is my Halogen E-Codes

You still need amber reflectors to be DOT approved.

Default No problem. And installation is pretty easy. But I just had my dealer install them in case there

were any issues. Plus, they can professionally align them.
