it does have a lot of miles as I have said before so if I need to do some eco or fuse box fixing I wouldn't be surprised. I do have the 01E transmission and what I believe to be the engine speed sensor/ crankshaft sensor is on the front left of the bell housing of the trans. Do I replace that part? It's hard for me to know what part that is specifically

On my car with the automatic 01V, that G28 sensor is attached to the bell housing above/in front of the driver's side CV flange. Held on by just one cap screw (5mm hex I think), easiest access for me was to remove the driver side wheel, and reach in through the wheel well where the drive shaft passes through.

Ahh! Okay then we must be talking about the same part. Mine is in about the same spot and position
