Default First problem

Well, the honeymoon is over. It's really not that big of a deal. I was cleaning off my car from last night's frozen rain/sleet/snow/etc. after work, and when I went to clean the passenger side wiper, the blade came off, right in my hand. I looked carefully, trying to replace it, and it turns out the little plastic tab that keeps the blade attached had broken off. It happened with hardly any pressure, so it may have been weak to start. I placed the blade back in the arm where it's supposed to go, and drove home with it partially working.

I just got back from the nearest dealer (Bernardi-Natick) where they replaced it no questions asked.

My questions are has anyone else had this happen, and is it just me or does the design of this piece look pretty shabby?

Thanks.

Bummer that the wiper broke off...Least they fixed it without a headache..

What's your experience been with Bernardi in general..? I hear they're opening up a huge new dealership with outstanding service,etc...Also, did you purchase from there..? I'm trying to narrow down between them and Clair.

Default Clair.

Without the right staff, a new showroom is all facade.

For more info, e-mail me directly. No need to flame publicly.

It is possible that the plastic was a little brittle from the cold. A little too much pressure and brittle plastic don't mix.

Hello, mine broke off while driving (and using the wipers)...it scratched the driver's side windshield. I took it to the dealer...they say they can "repair" the windshield, don't have to replace it. This bites!

Make them replace it. You will get a distortion where they polished the scratches out if you don't

Default same thing happened to me

Had a little ice storm the other moring and I was trying to clean of the wiper on the passenger side when it came off in my hand. I was holding the wiper and the plastic piece and after a long time standing in freezing rain finally got it back on ... no fun!

Default Bernardi...

This was the first time I've been there. I've heard from folks around here that they are a bit unorganized - which matches my experience. The new showroom is still under construction, but looks to be done fairly soon.

I purchased from Wagner in Boylston. It's a hike from Boston, but I live out west and it was actually the closest dealer to my house. I loved my experience there. If you are willing to make the drive see Gary St. Jean - great guy.
