Gas Mileage - What do you get? (B6 A4 1.8QT, Manual, Stage 1+)
#12
I get about 285miles per tank in my 3.0. I won't buy the new 3.2 Audi
with the way gas is going. I'll get a 2.0T. Manufacturers keep creeping higher in the liters dept instead of getting more hp from the same literage. Not exactly in the "green" spirit.
VW/Audi's 6 cyl has gone from 2.8/3.0/3.2
What's next, 3.4/3.6...
I've seen Nissans with 3.6 V6's. And I think there is a GM 3.8 V6. They just suck more gas for modest hp gains.
Sadly, we as consumers are also to blame, since we buy them. Although, we only buy from the options given.
A small 6cyl with twin turbo would be good to have return. I don't know what gas mileage the 2.7T's get.

"we only buy from the options given." Give me a 2.0l N/A or any TDI and I'm buying.
I don't "need" 3.0L for a daily driver. I chose it because I was buying used, wanted an Avant and this clean example was local, so I boguht it.
Increasing HP on a smaller displacememnt motor wouldn't help the mileage either.
