Glowing turbo... and a whistling when off the gas
So here's the next chapter in my a4 woes... I love my car but sometimes it's a real pain in my ***.
I was driving home tonight and lately it's been whistling/chirping when i let off the gas (i'm assuming its the turbo or the dv. I looked under under the hood tonite and the turbo was glowing red (not the cat), it wasn't bright but enough to see it in the dark. I was driving it pretty hard - keeping up w/ a corvette, which I was impressed by (we were very safe). So I'm assuming this is a bad thing. Any thoughts (apart from not driving like this except on a track - i've heard all that before). The car seems to be driving fine - no change in performance...
1.8, labree HFC, borla exhaust, apr 1+, 101k miles.
