Default no offense, but that's a naive assumption

i'm well aware of the fact that often we use this forum (and/or perhaps others) to b*tch about our cars as much as we talk about mods/driving our cars...that doesn't mean that the majority of cars like ours are prone to unreliability. My father has had 6 audi's over the past 20 years, and while i just got mine i know the 1.8t to be a fairly reliable engine. Of my father's six cars, only one was problematic (he had an 85 5000 that was actually not bad until later on towards the end of his lease term)...all of his other Audi's have been completely problem free...i've also met several other Audi owners that keep their cars quite a while without having problems (one person in particular that I can recall actually just recently got rid of his 5000 quattro, which he donated with 350,000 miles on it. The car was still running strong, he had just gotten tired of driving the same car for all of that time. I'm not saying that Audi's are 100% reliable by any means, hell...if i wanted something like that, i'dve bought a Toyota...for an enjoyable german automobile that is as practical as it is fun to drive, Audi is a car that is tough to beat...and for the most part, they're pretty reliable as german cars go....all of this is assuming of course, that you take proper care of your car and do scheduled oil changes/maintenance, etc. etc.... my 2c
