Default Good deal?.....

We are looking at a 2004 CPO A4 3.0 Avant for my wife. It has the Premium and Cold weather pkg. No Bose. 18k miles. They are asking $33,900. Sounds quite high for a car that's 2 years old and probably stickered at around $39k when new. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Default That sounds high to me. Granted it doesn't have many miles but I would think that car should sell

for less. Kelly Blue Book lists the suggested retail selling price for an 04 3.0 Avant at $32K. Try to see if you can get it for under $30K. KBB lists the trade in value at $26,375.

Default Bought my '03 3.0 6sp Avant for $30,000 in April '04

Sport package, premium, no Bose, no cold, no CPO but only 14,000 miles. I think you can do a little better.

Default Avants are hot items these days...

It's an Avant, and dealers know all too well that they can ask for whatever they want (as Avants are in great demand) and someone sooner or later (probably sooner) will cough up the money and buy it.

An example: West Broad Audi in Richmond, VA has had on the lot a used 2003 1.8T Avant with 27000 miles for the past few weeks, and they are asking the exorbitant price of $26,500 (I don't even know if it is a CPO). I bet that it won't be long before they sell it, and they won't even have to budge on the price.

Default You can always bargain

When i ordered for my new Avant, i checked up with all dealers and finally thought one of the dealers would budge, got a further 3% off and i am happy. With used cars you should be able to get atleast 5-7% off from the asking price
