Hard Core 1st Generation S4 owner....Hated my Car!!???
Well ...Just Happened tonight...Parked my 02 A4 right next to a Well cared Silver S4 {probably an 00 model}at our neighborhood Grocery Store...As I got out,I stood for awhile and admired its very stock but well kept condition...Suddenly somebody commented behind me and said..."See! ,Audi F**k Up bigtime .. when they brought out this new A4...I'm glad I got the old One"..Since I was a little bit surprised at his comment, I never bothered to compliment his car as he somewhat grumpingly sped off abruptly from where I am....I just thought....*What was that about"??

True the S4 was a great car when it came out, but trying fitting 3 adults in the car it can't be done,
the S4 is a dinosaur now, time for next generation S4 then we can talk,

I even had more pleasant discussions about cars with my neighbor who owns an Bimmer M5
He is just so Odd...probably thought I was standing to close to his beloved S4...I wonder If he even attends Car shows just to see how other car manufacturers screwed up...

Yep, It's not just Audi owners that suffer those symptoms. Reading....
an article on luxury cars I found a comment that indicated when 30 grand or more is put down for a car, one doesn't like to see the model go out of fashion wrt style within 2 model years. American and Japanese cars tend to have it worse.

A good portion of the last-gen owners do not like the '02 styling. (so they say)
I live in the bay area and there are a ton of pre-02 A4's around, way, way more than the 02's at this point. I've had several of the owners engage me about the styling, mostly to tell me they wish Audi had stuck with the older lines. Ick.
Although nothing as unpleasant as Bolo's experience..
Personally, I would not have considered the A4 before this year purely for aesthetic reasons. I thought the old car (particulary the rear) was already outdated when 2000 rolled around.
