Default Has anyone bought out of a lease

I think I got hosed on my lease deal. Put $4,000 down and have a cap cost of 26,600. Payments are $354 per month for 60 months. Residual is $13,300 and there are built in lease fees of about $7,000. If I pay cash for the car after 5 years I end up paying $39,000 total!!!! The dealer said I can buy out of the lease right now for the cap cost of $26,600 with no prepayment penalty etc. does this sound right?

Default Re: Has anyone bought out of a lease

Has your lease started yet? If it did, the dealer has nothing to do with it anymore. Call your leasing company. Only they can tell you what you can and cannot do. You signed a contract with them, not with your dealer. The leasing company owns the car now, so it's up to them to decide. Hope it all works out for you.
