Has anyone replaced their coolant temp. sensor, (G62) O ring at the coolant flange?
I have had this minor leak for a few weeks and replaced hose going to big turbo as I thought coolant was hitting hot turbo and evaporating.
I checked and noticed coolant leaking against the block. This is the hosing that holds the ECT or coolant sensor. There are two bolts that hold this on with an O ring. I am assuming O ring is bad.
Has anyone replaced this as it's tough to get ones hands back there.

I found the leak and know how to repair- Just looked like a pain to get ones hands
back there. Sometimes, it's worth having someone else do it, (as why I was seeing if anyone did this and how long it took). Was going to compare the time vs how much it costs...

The sensor is fine, it's the housing that fits on the block that is leaking at the O ring.
Thanks for sending as once items are removed from this area, it is much easier to get ones hands back there.

Audi has a recall on this problem. You can have this service done by the dealer at no cost. For people who've paid for this service Audi will also reimburse you.

The flange can fail where it meets up with the block....
Here's some pics from when I changed mine out that will show you how it can fail, and cause coolant to leak on backside of engine down onto the block/tranny. If you replace the flange, make sure to use a new o-ring for that area.
