Headlight problems

ah, mine are xenon and my ballast went giving similar problem - yours are different. If the bulb works when moving it to the other headlight then it sounds like the wiring is at fault or maybe the bulb holder? I had an A6 with halogens and had the same problem as you, I took the headlight itself out and connected it to the other headlight wiring to eliminate the wiring or holder - it was the holder itself that was faulty after this test in my case..

I think that he physically took both headlight assemblies out, and connected the "dead" one to the the harness plug on the "good" side. The headlight housing will of course not fit, but the connectors are identical and will show whether the problem is in the headlight assembly or not.
