heavy rain + exhaust = weird noise and vibration
its happened to me twice. in really heavy rain my exhaust vibrates against the car really bad. Me and my front passenger can feel it really badly in the seats but not in the tranny or steering wheel. anyone ever had this happen to them? its a dahlback exhaust if that matters

Interesting...searched google, and someone with a Mini complains of the same thing...crazy ****e!
I thought I had an exhaust leak or something...it sounded horrible...have you heard this noise before?

Happens to me too, here's the reason:
Your exhaust gets pretty hot as you're driving. When the cold rain water saturates the pipes, the sudden change in temperature on the metal slightly warps a part of it (Heat expands, cold constricts). This slight variation in shape is whats causing the loud vibration/rattle. What I normally do is drop it into neutral for a few seconds and it'll go away.
