Default There is no logical reason why I would lie about this and make myself...

seem like a complete dumb ***. I drained what I thought was the oil, ended up being the tranny fluid. I checked the dip stick and it was just over the top ball. I got in my car drove and noticed that something wasn't right. Then I consulted a couple Audi service shops and one of them said that I prob drained the tranny fluid instead of the oil and they were right. Now I am faced with the most expensive oil change ever!!!!!!!

Default totally agree, fill the tranny fluid and drain some oil, take it to a independent shop...

and have them do this, then take it to the dealership.

That is the plan, lucky for me I have an extended warranty, but I still hope there is no damage

Default 2nd that, this really is a classic, i hate to laugh at problem, but the evolution of this post...

is straight comedy, starting with the jokes and then the realization.

So you started the day 5 quarts low? Only possible explanation, unless you have a massive leak.

Default he prolly checked the dipstick before starting the engine and letting it idle/drive to get the oil

circulating...my guess, the level on the dipstick is thru the roof now
