How to set timing write up
Does any one know how to set the timing on the 3.0 engine? for example if I take the head off to fix a valve and have to take off the cam etc... is there a write up some place that tells you how to get the engine back into to time when I put the timing belt back on etc.. does the bentley repair manual tell you how?? any references??

you need the tools, their are no marks. best bet is to order your parts from Blauparts and rent their tools which also come with the instructions. It can't be done without the tools !! do a search their are hundreds of posts

I've done the timing belt service on my 3.0 before so I agree with you. But this is if I take a head off of one side and have to take the overhead cam off fix it and put it back on. how do you timing the engine after that service. Say I broke a valve and I had to replace it. you have to take the head off and put everything back into sync when you put it back to gether. just not sure how to do that or if there is any write up to do that.

don't have to worry about the cam moving or do you mark it before you take it apart and just put it back on?? the cam lock only fits one way correct? if both cam lock are on the timing should be set correctly I would think if they only go on one way.. but with the dual over head cams this can get really screwed up if you're not careful..
