Huge dilemma with E-Codes...
they were using my E-Codes with an empty housing just to set the bumper and hood in place I guess, and they asked me to go to the shop yesterday to actually get the bulbs and ballast in the headlights so they can finish up and I hit a major bump in the road...
Apparently I have an early build 2002, so I have a pear shaped ignitor on my HID, and my ballast is connected with a small 6 pin connection...
the black housings use a square ignitor, and 4 pin connection...
has anyone had this problem, and who should I order from now because ECS does not have the chrome housing that I need, all of their chrome housings as well have the square HID base and 4 pin connections...
I'm really screwed now as my car is essentially done but sitting at the shop with no headlights
I dropped EPI an email but they havent had a chance to rrespond yet/their site shows it takes 2 weeks, and I have all of 2 days or so

ok i understand that part....
a friend of mine suggest he could easily do that for me in a matter of seconds...
but the major probelm is what to do about the pear shaped ignitor, since the ecode has a square base for the HID ?
edit: if i can somehow make the HID fit in the housing somewhat easily I'd be very happy, I don't know what else to do and my car needs headlights

Damn...that svcks. What's the build date on your car?
I have an early build 2002 and have noticed a couple differences that have caused headaches.
i.e. My short-shift install hit a roadbump when I discovered a totally different boot clip.(and to my knowledge...the only documented clip like it)
I'm always leery when changing something...with early build '02s you never know what you're gonna get.
I'd suggest buying a plug and play setup and selling your ecode housings to someone that can easily swap in the projectors.

well I am still able to return them for a complete refund...
so that isnt the problem.... a complete plug and play swap runs like what 1000-1100...
i have a credit of 450 towards the headlights thats why i went with 550 dollar headlights... if it was gonna be 1100 i definitely wouldn't go with ecodes...
if there is no solution for the ignitor problem and i cant find a housing that can make it here quick im gonna have to tell the body shop to order a replacement us-spec headlight which i really dont wanna do

here let me show you what im talking about...
my ignitor is not clipped to my ballast its literally attached to it... so i can't change the shape of my ignitor and i dont think i can separate it from the ballast...
here is my ignitor:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39591/my_round_hid_base.jpg">
here is what is has to go into as im sure you know from this end...
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39591/square_e-code_base.jpg">
obviously converting the connection for the ballast isn't a huge deal but i doubt there is anyway to make that pear shaped ignitor fit in the square base...
