Default I have a brake light out.

What kind of bulb do I need? Do I have to get it from the dealer. I don't have time to go there and wait an hour or two for them to change this bulb.

local autoparts store...Napa or whatever. Just pull your burnt one out and match it up.

Default My service writer did it in 5 minutes in the parking lot...

Just don't show up at their crunch times (early morning drop-off and evening pick-ups) and they should be able to do it on the spot. You might even want to call ahead of time to make sure they can accomodate you.

Default 10 minute job. Just changed one on Saturday.

I just replaced mine. Pop out circular cover in trunk lid, phillips head screw is the sole device holding the unit in place. Pull out assembly and pry open saftey tab with a small flat head screwdriver to unplug wiring harness. Then unclip (by hand) plastic tension clips on either side of unit. All the bulbs are on the same deck. The brake light twists out. Each bulb has a model number printed on the base(old # 1077). I bought a new one at Walmart for under $4, it was a different bulb number (a 12 volt, 4 amp like the original one), but was recommended by their application guide. Everything works as intended.

Default Happened to me on the way to Waterfest.....

I was depressed at first. I then realized how damn easy it is to do yourself. Went to Pepboys and bought the bulb & then proceeded to change the old one out. Very easy. I love how our little computer tells you "Rear Left Brake light out!" Although it got annoying after a while! I wish I could turn it off.
