Default I need some clarification....

A friend of mine mentioned reading an article in May's MotorTrend citing an Audi recall. I'm not sure what this specifically refers to, maybe the numerous coil pack problems. Can anyone verify this? If so, does this effect the entire A4 product line?

Default To my knowledge, there is no official recall yet. If you have a failure, they are supposed to..

replace all 4 coils now, but only after you have a failure.

Is this common in 1.8 and 3.0?

Default It is for '02 1.8T models

The '02 3.0 is also affected, but I can't be sure whether the engine is less susceptible or because there are less 3.0 owners to report problems.

Early '03 models are also affected. But, you should be fine with a later build date.

Default No specifics found.

Sounds like there are really only 2 options 1)get it fixed if and when it happens or 2)they'll contact us when official recall is initiated. It's probably a good idea to make sure AoA has our current contact info on file.

Default I got the recall letter.

No BS. I got a letter from AoA saying that my car was recalled due to coil pack issues. So have TONS of other people.
