Depends how many miles were driven that way, and ( edit )
whether you have oil in the coolant ( in the overflow tank ) or coolant in the oil ( chocolate milk foam on the dipstick and oil cap ). Coolant in the crankacase is the bad one, since the moving parts of the engine may not be getting enough lubrication. Oil in the cooling system requires cleaning and flushing of the entire system, but otherwise should be OK for the most part after the leak is fixed. You can end up with coolant and oil crossing over into both systems if the leak is really bad.
Ask to see a full report of their findings.
For best long term reliability, I would lean towards engine rebuild or replacement of not actually getting a new car under a buy-back agreement.
This could be moot if it is some other substance that is creating the foaming.

Were the 2 different types of antifreeze mixed together?
This just might be a long shot, but some types of anti-freeze are pink, and some are green (different chemistry). Mix the two and you get brown. Maybe the dealership (or whoever did the service) topped it off with the wrong type of
coolant.
